Another sobering morning

Below is a post taken from facebook. Another of Janet's on line friends has lost her husband through prostate cancer. His G.P. treated him for 18 months for back pain with pain killers, not recognising the symptoms of prostate cancer. He was only in his mid 40's. He leaves behind two young teenage daughters. It could have been prevented.

If ANYONE tells you prostate cancer is an easily controlled disease that only ever effects old men, tell them how ignorant of the truth they are.

It is such a beautiful day for most of us but sadly not for all :-( This morning I learnt that at 1 a.m. this morning yet another friend lost his fight against prostate cancer. He fought so valiantly, willing to be guinea pig for any new treatment, but sadly he lost the battle ---- he was ONLY 52 YEARS OLD !!!

Mark was diagnosed at 48 years of age - yes, 48 !!!
How can they still say this is an old-man's disease.........

RIP Mark - another good man lost far too soon :-( xxxxx

Please, please nag, drag, or whatever it takes, to get any man you know to go to the GP and ask to be tested. We have lost too many good men to this dreadful disease. THERE IS NO ROUTINE TESTING, SO IT'S UP TO US !!!!
